For musicians
Record takes, build sessions, share a project with your band. It all stays on your own devices.
Audio goes straight to disk. There is no project to set up first. On the Mac and on Windows you can record from the menu bar without opening a window.
Play along to what you have and each pass lands as a new clip. Loop a section and every lap is a take. Punch in over a range with pre-roll.
Trim, split, move, crossfade. Volume, pan, mute, solo. Markers for the places you keep going back to.
Export a mixdown or stems as WAV or AAC. Or drag a clip straight into your DAW.
Transcription runs on the device. The audio never leaves it. Search a rehearsal for the thing someone said.
Record on the phone, edit on the laptop. The session is the same on both, and it syncs without a server.
Share a project with the people you play with. They join from a code and come in as a viewer or an editor. You see each other's cursors. On the same wifi it works with no internet. Across the internet it goes through an encrypted relay that can't read anything. That last part is still in beta. How it works →
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/recn-in/recn-releases/main/install.sh | bash Taps and trusts recn-in/recn, then installs or updates the recn-rec cask. Run it again any time to update.

Direct macOS and Windows downloads update themselves. This is early software: expect rough edges, and keep copies of work that matters. Mobile betas are for ages 13 and over.
